Lets take a minute to share something serious here. Newborn safety.
Newborn safety is my #1 concern at all times during your session and I take great pride in this. Ive spent years perfecting this genre of work and many, many classes just for newborn safety alone.
Some of you by now have noticed my “Baby Shelf” series and I want to be upfront, open and real about how this image is created whether you are a photographer just starting out or a mom looking for a photographer. This image is a COMPOSITE. What is a composite you ask? Its the merging of two images together to create an realistic illusion. I know that I could and never would (and neither should you!) place a baby on a shelf for a photograph.
As you can see below, I photographed Penelope with a teddy on my beanbag and black blanket. Then I photographed the shelf with the bears. The magic then happens in photoshop to create a final work of art.
Please make sure that when you hire a photographer that safety is in the forefront of their mind.
If you dont know, now you know 😉
